Fifteen log cabins set the tone of the Elkhorn Ranch: rustic elegance, comfort, and hospitality. Built mostly in the 30’s, each is set apart from the others, with its own view of the ranch meadow. Cabins vary in size, sleeping from one to eight people. All have been modernized; private baths have electric heat and many have claw foot tubs with showers.
All cabins have porches offering a quiet spot to relax after a day in the saddle. Here, too, people gather with new friends at the end of the day or steal an afternoon of solitude. There are no phones or televisions in the cabins to disturb the tranquility or to interrupt the laughter of kids playing at the Rec Hall or pond. There are phones and internet access in the office.
Wood stoves provide the main heat source and are especially appreciated in the early morning when we light them for you before you leave the comfort of your bed. Other amenities include lots of pure, untreated spring water, daily cabin service and nightly turndowns.
Life at Elkhorn is based on the outdoors and our cabins reflect that. Built during a simpler era, they are cozy and comfortable. Hand hewn log bed frames and dressers, most made by Cruse Black in the 30’s and 40’s, are complimented by Hudson Bay blankets and down comforters on good beds with reading lights. Colorful rugs adorn the, often, squeaky, wood floors.
