Check in and Check out:
Check in on Sunday: 2pm
Check out on Saturday: 10am
Horseback Riding:
All riders must go on Family Ride on Monday morning.
For the safety of our guests and horses, the weight limit for riding is 250 pounds with a BMI max of 34. This weight limit will be enforced and weight will be verified if needed.
Riders must be capable of mounting their horse without assistance, and have enough core strength to stay centered and balanced on their horse.
Riders may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while riding.
For safety reasons, all riders must wear slip-on cowboy boots with a smooth sole (available to borrow).
We offer a variety of cowboy hats, boots, and rain slickers for guests to borrow. All hats require a stampede string (provided by ranch) if worn while riding.
We do not provide riding helmets. We have them available for purchase or you may bring your own.
We do not allow pregnant riders.
Children under 6 may not trail ride, but they can be led around the ranch on horseback when scheduling permits.
We ride nose to tail for safety.
For the safety of our guests and horses, the ranch reserves the right to determine a guest’s suitability for horseback riding; if we determine that a guest is not safe to ride for any reason, they will be designated as a non-rider and refunded the difference between the rider and non-rider rate.
Other Ranch Activities:
Guided horseback riding, hiking and fly fishing are included in your stay.
There is no need to sign up for activities before you arrive.
We are no longer offering Yellowstone tours. We highly recommend visiting Yellowstone before or after you arrive at the ranch. There are many Yellowstone tour companies in the area.
Under 6 Childcare Options:
You may bring your own sitter at no charge with the understanding that they are here as a dedicated caretaker. They may not participate in guest activities but are able to stay in your cabin, unless a small cabin is available.
You may hire a sitter for the week through the ranch. There is limited availability each summer for sitters. Children must be at least 2 years of age or older if Elkhorn is providing a sitter service.
Family members may care for and supervise young children.
Transportation:
We highly recommend renting a car to allow you more flexibility throughout the week. Our transportation is limited to 2 shuttles per week. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Transportation is $250 per way, per car from Bozeman airport. If our transportation service is fully booked, we are happy to recommend other transportation companies.
Wi-Fi and Cell Service:
Cell phone service blissfully has not reached the ranch. There is access to good Wi-Fi at the office which is available to you 24/7. You may also want to leave the ranch telephone number (406-995-4291) as a contact number.
All ranch policies are subject to change. In the event that we make a change to our policies, all guests will be notified promptly.
